THREE MINUTES TO A STRONG MIND AND A FIT BODY

Part 1 Excerpt: From Three Minutes to Catch a Train ...

Can Three Minutes Really Make a Difference?

At first, I didn't think those few seconds could ever be enough. It's not long enough to listen, I thought–certainly not to help anyone.

Why only three minutes? Because that's all the time I have as host of the Train Station Fitness Show on Dallas/Fort Worth radio to talk to any one caller. I would like to talk longer with each and every person, but in the world of entertainment, a call is not suppose to last longer than three minutes unless it's compelling enough to keep other listeners' attention. That's not a lot of time when you're trying to help someone overcome years of failing at their eating and fitness programs.

I had to reach callers with simple, fast answers. I couldn't waffle around with long explanations. The more I struggled to find quick ways to teach people about health, the more I learned. As I learned, questions from people of all different backgrounds started to form a pattern.

I'd been wrestling for years with these same questions. What did people want from a program? What would it take to follow a plan to become more fit than they are today? What would it take so they don't become turned off, tired, bored, and quit?

The answer as to why people fail really intrigued me. As a cop in New Jersey, I was constantly thrown into contact with people who needed to make changes–get off drugs, get off the street, control their anger. They'd get into trouble; some would get their act together, and do well. Then I'd see them again a year later, back in trouble. I always wanted to know why they were only able to do better for a while, before sliding back into their old habits.

Now, people call my radio show and share with me the obstacles they encounter while trying to attain a simple goal. Many of my listeners are people trying to overcome years of inactivity or ineffective fitness plans. I also have calls from body builders or from people with special concerns such as arthritis or injuries. Many calls are about supplementation, especially those so-called quick weight-loss miracle pills.

One day I decided to begin sharing part of a program with my listening audience that I used with my personal training clients. I developed this program based on my own personal game plan because it produced fast, attainable and permanent results that were easy to swallow. I introduced it to my clients who were frustrated because they wanted something more effective than the traditional diet books and training programs.

And guess what? I discovered that the key activity, the essential element that means the difference between success and failure, only takes three minutes. That's right, a three minute exercise that can make the difference between a fitness plan that works for the moment and one that works for a lifetime. I call it the Three Minute Workout.

Many of the people using this program had come to me because they were tired of too much hard work and too few fat loss benefits. Everyone who has applied this plan has either attained their goals or come close to them, and become happier, healthier, and more fit than they have been in years. These people lost hundreds of pounds, increased their energy, slept better, smiled more, appreciated their spouses more, just because they felt better about themselves and life in general. They discovered a quality of life they never knew existed.

Sound good? This book will guide you in the right direction to your fitness goals.
